Under the title “(In-)Between Spaces”, students will collaborate with musicians from the Mahler Chamber Orchestra to create an evening of live music, thought-provoking contributions, and open dialogue. Admission is free.

The evening will inaugurate the VR installation “Future Presence: Mozart String Quintet”, which will be available for public experience at the museum from 19 to 21 May. Using virtual reality technology, visitors will find themselves immersed in the heart of the string ensemble, experiencing Mozart’s String Quintet in G minor (KV 516) from a completely new perspective. This immersive sound installation was developed in collaboration with sound artist Henrik Oppermann.

Both events are conceptualised and organised by the Leuphana Concert Lab. The VR installation forms part of a project seminar and is being accompanied by ongoing research. Visitors are warmly encouraged to share their impressions after the visit — voluntarily and with minimal effort. Your feedback contributes to a better understanding of new forms of music communication.
